Biography

Being a writer was always on my list of about 500 other things I wanted to be when I grew up. In college I started out studying journalism, but soon discovered I liked adding shiny bits to all the stories, so switched to fiction. Right after college I got a job at a television station in Seattle, writing commercials and then TV shows. (I just skipped over the year and a half I first spent in the mail room -- see why I’m not a journalist?). I started doing some film work, too, and began to study screenwriting. I first wrote a screenplay about a woman who accidentally killed her grandmother (don’t look for it at a theatre near you) and then I wrote a mystery/adventure story for kids. This second story became the novel, How To Disappear Completely and Never Be Found.

I live in Seattle with my husband and two sons. We all love to read.
