THE SECRETS OF BLUEBERRIES, BROTHERS, MOOSE & ME
It’s the summer of change for twelve-year-old Missy and her older brother as they land their very first jobs—picking blueberries on a mysterious farm that is bursting with long-held family secrets.
HOW TO DISAPPEAR COMPLETELY AND NEVER BE FOUND
Looking for answers about her past, twelve-year-old Margaret travels to an abandoned family mansion with three odd clues: a swimming medal, a key, and a handwritten comic book—about a boy who turned into a rat.
Sara Nickerson began her writing career working in television and film. She is the author of three novels: How To Disappear Completely and Never Be Found, The Secrets of Blueberries, Brothers, Moose & Me, and Last Meeting of the Gorilla Club. She lives in Seattle with her husband, two sons, two cats and the bravest Chihuahua in the world.
Sara Nickerson was born in the small town of Chehalis, Washington—but only because the smaller town of Rochester, where her family was living, didn’t have a hospital. Her childhood was spent in several different rural areas of the Pacific Northwest, until her family finally settled in Olympia, Washington. There, on an eight-acre parcel of land, she and her four brothers built rafts, dug holes, explored the surrounding forest, and helped maintain the small family farm.
She attended Washington State University, studying journalism and creative writing as she earned her BA in English. After graduation, she moved to Seattle and began her writing career working in television and film. While enrolled in a two-year screenwriting certificate program at the University of Washington, Sara wrote a screenplay that she would adapt to become her first middle-grade novel: How To Disappear Completely and Never Be Found (HarperCollins, 2002). She is also the author of The Secrets of Blueberries, Brothers, Moose & Me (Dutton, 2015) and Last Meeting of the Gorilla Club (Dutton, 2019). She lives in Seattle with her husband, two sons, two cats, and one noble Chihuahua.
